The visuals of this music video match the plot so perfectly showing off some of the main shots like close up & medium.  Macklemore is talking about the purchase of 2nd clothing from a thift store and expresses this by showing of the coats & other luxury goods which cost him a fraction of the retail for the stuff.

In this music video it has very impressive editing skills all throughout the shoot a example of this is fading, slow motion & a variety of different shots. These shots emphasises the storyline of the music video & makes everything look better at the end.

Aj tracey used the very talented ElenaGumen for the animation for this music video. She used a certain type of animation which makes all the people in the video have white outlines some even showing symbols, letters and words.

Another Aj tracey music video because his videos are not just standard he uses very creative film producers. In this video it shows shots such as eagle, medium, long, short and some slow motion animation as well.

A classic music video plot line wise but also for the editing in it. The music video shows some editing features like the repeat of a word or phrase & placing other background shots behind the main shot.

A music video like this featuring a load of massive rap stars will also include massive editing skills between rappers & verses. The editing in this shows the majority of shots starting from eagle all the way to short.

Narrative: What does the clip suggest about this particular storyline for Waterloo Road? What do you expect to happen? How might the new character impact on existing storylines?
I expect the school to eventually get better with the students, grades and the teachers themselves and this is how exactly the new character might impact the whole waterloo storyline.

Character: What school-based stereotypes can you recognise in the clip? How does the clip introduce the new characters in the show?
The typical school based stereotypes are that there is always 1 smart kid,1 or even a few trouble makers,1 really cool kid and also that some schools are more controlled by the students and their behaviour then the actual teachers and head master of the school. And the clip introduces the new characters into the show as a bit lost as the school is basically run by the students.

Iconography: What elements of the clip help to quickly introduce the school subgenre of TV Drama?
The clip helps people to realise that the subgenre is a "TV Drama" by showing us all the action/gossip that happens in this school despite the fact the students are their to learn.

Setting: How does the clip quickly introduce the school setting?
The clip introduces the school setting as uncontrolled by the teachers but also letting the teachers social life interact with their teaching life. Their uniform is scruffy  and this presents the students as non professional and trampy.

                                                            Django Unchained

  • How are black people represented? Is this a fair and honest portrayal of slavery? Why?
Black people are represented as non equal and shown the lowest respect as their not white or their either slaves to the white people. No its not fair as all people no matter their colour or religion should all be treated the same with respect.
  • How are women represented? Use specific examples from the trailer to support your points
Black or white the women were represented the same as the black males with no respect and they was mainly used for sexual desires.
  • How are white non-American represented? Why?
White non Americans are presented the same as the black males as Jangos's sidekick is not american and they try to kill him just like Jango.
  • How are white men represented? Why?
White men are represented as superior and have complete power over the females and black males because in the whole movie the females and black males are either being hit or being killed.
  • Is it as simple as saying black people are represented as good and white people as bad? Why?
Yes it is that simple because the white people knew what they was doing was wrong but they still continued to keep black people as slaves and torture them for so many hundreds of years.

Tuesday 31 January 2017

Your chosen movie
1) What film have you chosen?
   Django Unchained

 2) Why did you choose this film in particular?
I picked Django because I thought it had a very different and unique story line
Institutional background
Use IMDB to find out the institutions behind your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then look for the production company and UK distributor.

1) What was the film studio or production company behind your chosen film? E.g. Warner Brothers, Paramount etc.
   The Weinstein Company

 2) Who was the distributor for the theatrical release of the film in the UK?
  Columbia productions
No brand loyalty
1) What genre does your chosen film fit into?
    American western

 2) How can you tell it fits that genre? Be specific with reference to the trailer.
You can tell by the dark & settle colours (grey, black, white) that its a thriller and as Jamie Foxx has a gun so you definitely knows its a thriller.

Does your chosen film have any stars or a director that are known for that particular genre?
Jamie Foxx
Leandro Di Caprio

It’s all a matter of timing
1) What was the UK release date for your chosen film?
 11th December 2012
2) When did the first trailer appear on YouTube for your movie? Find the earliest example you can and embed it in your blog.
14 June 2012
3) What other examples of marketing (teaser trailers, main trailers, newspaper or TV interviews etc.) can you find for your chosen film from before the film’s release date?

It’s a social thing
1) What was the word-of-mouth like for your chosen film? If you can’t find tweets (probably blocked) use the IMDB user review rating or the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer rating to judge whether the public have given the movie a good review.

2) Find three quotes (no more than 25 words each) from user reviews of your movie to create a picture of what the public reaction to the film has been. Post them on your blog.

Risky business
Use IMDB to find out the box office records for your chosen film. Find your film, click on Company Credits and then Box Office/Business. You may want to use the excellent website Box Office Mojo to find out the budget and box office success for the film.

1) What was the original budget for your chosen film?
 $100 million
2) How much money did the film make in the opening weekend?
$30,122,888
3) How much money has the film made in total? (Look for the subheading ‘Gross’ which has the total box-office earnings listed).
Domestic Total Gross: $162,805,434
4) For a film to be considered a box office success, it needs to make at least two-and-a-half times the budget in box office takings. Using this method, was the film you have chosen a success? (Or, if it's a recent release, do you expect it to be a box office success?)
It was not a box office success because their budget was $100 million which means they made £62.8 million profit which is only half their budget if it was to be a success they would of needed to make  $2.5 million profit.

Stars in their eyes
Research the stars and director for your chosen film.

1) What films has the director previously directed? Are they in the same or similar genres?

2) Who is the main star in the film?
   Jamie Foxx
Christoph waltz 3) What other films has the main star appeared in? Are any of the films similar to the one you are researching?
The amazing Spiderman 2
Sleepless
White house down -Jamie Foxx
Tulip fever
Tarzan
Big eyes- Christoph waltz 4) Are the stars or the director or writer mentioned in the trailer for the film?
Yes they are
